He is very happy to have found One Bodhi Tree / Bodhicitta Warriors, which has helped him to build his understanding of key spiritual teachings. At the encouragement of Lama Shrigyan (Ravi) he has participated in volunteering at Pioneer Towers to teach computer classes to the elderly and at Trinity Cathedral to assist with Safe Ground and Family Promise. His previous exposure to the Dharma has been through Dr. Alan Wallace in Santa Barbara and various locations for retreats, Curt Darling with NKT in Long Beach, and Cliff Spencer and Lama Marut with ACI in Los Angeles. He has also participated with his wife Kelly at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Long Beach where they met, and now at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral with Rev. Baker and Kathleen Kelly. Buddhist practice has especially helped him to greatly limit time wasting bad habits and open his heart to others.

Jeri Mahamaya Petersen - Coordinator Volunteering and Social Services
I came to Buddhism through the practice of meditation. Finding myself in a very difficult situation after the sudden passing of my husband, meditation provided me the means to free up my mind that was seized by emotion and stress. That process provided me with essential tools for seeing my life though a clearer eye and has set me upon a path dedicated to Bodhichitta - doing good for others.
